Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Early Adopter badge?
The Early Adopter badge is a permanent credential awarded to the first 500 builders who join Silicon Africa. Once 500 builders join, the badge closes forever and can never be earned again. It is a visible signal that you were among the founders of this ecosystem. It is visible on your profile, your Silicon Africa ID, and all your launches.
Is the trusted network really gated?
Yes. The trusted network is application-based and contribution-based. You cannot buy your way in — you must complete your profile, verify your identity, list a verified startup, and contribute a minimum number of trusted relationships before access is granted. This protects the quality and trust level of the network for everyone in it.
What counts as a trusted connection?
A trusted connection is a person you know personally and professionally — an investor, advisor, Western business contact, AI company employee, or ecosystem operator — whose contact information you are willing to add to the Silicon Africa network for the purpose of facilitating warm introductions for other qualified members. You must have a real relationship with them.
Can I change my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. Network Pro access requires a separate application regardless of plan.
Is Silicon Africa only for African-based builders?
No. Silicon Africa is for Black builders globally — including the African continent, the African diaspora in the UK, Europe, North America, the Caribbean, South America, and anywhere else in the world where Black builders are building. Your location is your dot on the map. Your community is global.
What currencies do you accept?
We accept USD, GBP, EUR, NGN, KES, GHS, and ZAR. Local currency billing is handled through Paystack for African markets. All pricing shown is in USD equivalent.
